The Dance of Typography

Recently, I have been involved in a typography competition for the TypoDay 2019.

TypoDay is organised by the IDC School of Design, Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT) Bombay, Mumbai, India.
It is a weekly celebration of typography and it's beauty.

The theme for the 2019 events is Experimental Typography.
A part of this typography celebration, along with workshops and conferences, is a Poster Design Competition.

Specifications for the poster:


Size of the final poster:420mm x 600mm only in portrait format
Resolution: 300 dpi
File type: JPEG or PDF
Color Mode: CMYK

I have chosen to use my sketches of young Russian ballerinas.
Using their bodies and ballet figures I extracted letters from within their movements.




I think, that my poster may not be up to regulations, I wasn't sure if using an image along the type will be acceptable, however, I didn't receive an answer into this inquiry. Therefore I have decided to go along with the image, as I thought that it will make the message of movement within typography much clearer.




Further, I explored the idea of using this design in a different way, for example as a T-shirt:

Intro: Okay, I believe that his post is way long overdue. As an apology I will publish three posts that I should have written during the past month. FICTION AND REALITY The first brief of my second year Illustration course was focusing on collaboration. Working with second year graphic design students, we were divided into groups of three and four. Current Project

I am currently working on a children's book developed from an old Polish folk legend about a Golden Duck.  The short story follows a young poor shoemaker into finding a Golden Duck, who can make anyone rich, under certain condition, that they follow their rules.  In the end the legend talks about money not being the only important thing in the world, and that it won't bring anyone happiness unless you have someone to share it with.  The process of the book is still going, as although I have started in January, I went through a phase where I didn't enjoy my working method and decided to change it into a more mixed media of collage, watercolours and digital manipulation. I faced a brick wall when during a tutorial with my tutors I have been told that I need to change my font, because it just didn't fit the work.  So during the last week I had to create my own font and try to see how this one works with my work. Poetic Comeback

 After many months of the pandemic work, I was able to catch a bit of a rest and sink myself into the task of writing poems.  I appreciate each and every feedback that I receive in regards to my poetry. My style and repetitive themes are not to everyone's liking , but I enjoy the ability and a chance of noting down my thoughts in this way. Using the available moment I have decided to share my poems with a wider public, therefore I have submitted three of my poems to the newest isse of ArtAscent magazine. ArtAscent website ArtAscent is an opportunity for indie writers and artists to show their works to a vast number of readers.
